About the Job:
The Quality Assurance Associate will work alongside the Supply Chain team in the area of Quality Assurance.
This role will work both independently on projects, as well as with the team and other departments.
It will also be working with overseas suppliers and team members to improve processes.
Responsibilities:
Support GL NPI priorities, KPI's, and second sourcing activities from QA/QC perspective.
Provide support to Quality and Supply Chain Management as required.
Responsible for RoHS, REACH and Prop 65 testing (compliance) documentation and testing is up to date and retained.
Design, develop, and create key quality documentation that produce conforming products.
Help identify and resolve customer issues related to MFG process issues.
Responsible for the effective implementation of the GL CAR program working with onshore and offshore supply base partners.
Drive Root Cause, Corrective Action from start to finish using established RCCA tools (PFMEA, DMAIC, 5 Whys, 8D etc.
).
Work with operations team(s) to identify processes that require continuous improvement.
Use appropriate statistical tools to analyze data and recommend process improvements.
Work with offshore suppliers and teams for improving supplier processes and yields.
As necessary, develop inspection fixturing, working with PD (when required) and China counterparts.
Think Quality Reliability Interface with team members in an effective, timely, and professional manner.
Ability to take ambiguous directions and create comprehension action plans.
Visual inspection and testing of GL product as required.
Actively support the GL ECO process as it relates to quality and supplier processes
Experience:
1-5 yrs experience in the following disciplines or combination of QA/QE/PE/SQE.
Fluent in Mandarin a plus.
Six Sigma training and ASQC certification(s).
Supplier auditing experience improving processes across a wide range of suppliers (textiles, leather goods, plastic, metal, sandblasting, plating etc) ANSI Z1.
4 sampling plans, ISO Standards, ASTM test methods and others as applicable.
Familiar with typical inspection tools (calipers, force gauges, durometers, thickness gauges, etc).
RoHs, REACH, CMRT, Prop 65 Computer savvy - Microsoft excel, Minitab, Microsoft office, Google, Team Gantt, Slack, etc.
