Vehicle Inspector Entry Level - CR Writer at Auto Auction
Location: Spring Hill, TN
Description: Full Time, Hourly
Job Scope
Conduct inspections of incoming Vehicles and complete written Condition Report (CR) on findings.
To detect damage, missing parts and mechanical problems; prepare and submit a Report of Vehicle Condition, repair/replacement cost estimates and related documentation.
Key Responsibilities
o Conduct assessment of vehicle condition upon receipt noting any damage or repair required for frame, paint, engine, AC/heater operation, radio, navigation system, tires, etc.
o Prepare support documentation related to vehicle condition including vehicle identification data, condition description; repair costs estimates, photographs, etc.
o Maintain current knowledge of applicable labor rates, parts charges and manufacturer's updates; adhere to work instructions/procedures regarding inspections/documentation
o Conduct courtesy walk around inspections for offsite buyers
o Perform other job related duties as directed by supervisor
o On occasion, visit dealership car lots to take photographs and perform inspection on site.
Qualifications
o High School Diploma or equivalent required
o ASE certification or background in automotive repair, and cost estimating
o Knowledge ICAR Certifications preferred
o Valid Driver's License and safe driving record required
o Basic computer software skills required
o Ability to multitask required
o Must be detail oriented
o General knowledge of automotive body and mechanical work preferred
o Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch and climb
o Must be able to work in inclement weather
o Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception
o Previous body shop experience, mechanical experience, estimating experience preferred
